Digital Economy & Industry 4.0 Task Force Meeting in Paris


The Digital Economy & Industry 4.0 Task Force Meeting was held on Monday 28th of May in the framework of the OECD Week in Paris.

The session was chaired by Jacobo Cohen Imach (DEI Deputy Chair & Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Legal & Public Affairs for Mercado Libre) in representation of Marcos Galperín (DEI Chair), alongside Rory MacFarquhar (DEI Co-Chair & Director, Global Economic Policy at Google), Flavia Alves (DEI Co-Chair & Head of International Institutions Relations at Facebook) and Deep Kapuria (DEI Co-Chair & Chairman at The Hi-Tech Group).

The working group continued to develop their policy recommendations. Topics discussed included cyber-security, gender gap in digitalization, new technologies to promote financial inclusion and the development of digital skills.

“As our economies go digital, hundreds of people will be integrated thanks to technology. Our Task Force will express recommendations on how to best help the workforce develop the necessary digital skills and ensure that we take firm steps towards a more inclusive society” stated Jacobo Cohen Imach

The task force will receive all its members on July 30th in Buenos Aires for an Inspirational Session and a Workshop jointly with G20 delegates.
