On November 1, Argentina took over the presidency of Business 20—the business voice of the G20 process—from the Germany B20 team.
Last August, Ambassador Pedro Villagra Delgado, Sherpa of the G20, appointed Dr. Daniel Funes de Rioja as Chair (leader) of B20 Argentina and the presidents of the group of business chambers known as the group of six (ADEBA, BCBA , CACS, CAMARCO, SRA and UIA) as Co-Chair, to co-lead this process. Also, Lic. Carolina Castro (Executive Sherpa) and Eng. Fernando Landa (Policy Sherpa) have been called upon to manage this challenge. On behalf of Germany, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Argentina, Jürgen Christian Mertens, together with the Chair of the B20 Germany, Dr. Jürgen Heraeus, and his Sherpa, Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, attended the Handover Ceremony. The role of the Germany B20 team has been essential to highlight the future challenges of the global economy. The B20 contributes to the work of the G20 through the organization of working groups that will be arranged over the coming months, where the most relevant topics of global economic policy will be discussed, with the aim of reaching consensuses on a series of recommendations that contribute to the improvement of international economic development. Under Argentina’s leadership, the B20 will seek to advance on topics such as "Employment and Education", "Digital Economy and Industry 4.0", "Trade and Investment", "Financing Growth and Infrastructure", "Energy, Resource Efficiency and Sustainability", “SMEs Development”, “Integrity and Compliance” and "Sustainable Food System”.
