B20 was present at the Compliance Forum celebrated in Buenos Aires on August 22th
B20 Policy Sherpa Fernando Landa participated in the Compliance Forum organized by the German-Argentinian Chamber of Industry & Commerce (AHK) and partnered by B20, the Ministry of Finance of the Argentine Government, Alliance Integrity and the Argentine Agency of Ethics & Compliance, among others.
The panel on “Integrity and Compliance in the G20 Agenda” included María Laura Escuder (Director of Institutional Relations at the Anti-Corruption Office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Argentina), Fernando Landa (B20 Policy Sherpa), Andrea Rey (B20 Integrity & Compliance Task Force Knowledge Partner and Leading Associate at Forensic & Integrity Services FIDS for Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay at Ernst & Young), Pablo Secchi (C20 Chair and Executive Director at Poder Ciudadano, Argentine Chapter of Transparency International) and moderator Dalma Parisi (Integrity & Compliance Deputy Co-Chair and Regional Compliance Officer at Siemens).
The Forum focused on the global agenda to combat corruption, the B20 Integrity & Compliance Task Force´s work, G20 affinity groups, the cooperation between the public and private sectors and civil society to create public policies that can achieve the standards of integrity established by the OECD.
“Anticorruption is a cross-thematic topic essential to the B20 agenda. We focus on the need to generate a culture of integrity with education and a strong rule of law, through national policies and collective action. Transparency and integrity in public procurement with a focus on infrastructure, the implementation of high standards of integrity in SOEs, final beneficiary transparency are three of the essential topics,” stated Fernando Landa.
